Each year, the Society for the Study of Childhood in the Past (SSCIP) holds a conference hosted by a member of the Society. The conference offers an annual opportunity for international members of the Society to meet up. It is run in different countries around the world alternating each year between a host in Europe and a host further afield.
The 19th Annual SSCIP Conference will be hosted by April Nowell and will take place from 23rd – 25th June 2027 in Victoria, Canada.
The conference theme is ‘Past and Present in Dialog: How Research of the Contemporary Informs Our Scholarship on Childhood in the Past‘.
The call for papers (posters and podium) is now open – deadline 15th February 2027.
